Thomas
Gear was born in Cavan Town, Ireland. He travelled to London,
Antwerp, Amsterdam and the Far East to learn from the World's
experts, the Art of Diamond and Jewellery Design and Manufacture.
In 1969 he
returned home to open his first premises at Nr. 24 Dolphins Barn Street.
The Headquarters is now at Parnell Mall, ILAC Centre, Dublin 1. There is a fully equipped studio design workshop on the premises where any item can be designed and manufactured to the customer's specification.
What We Do
Our
customers are guaranteed that only the finest quality diamonds and
precious stones are used in our engagement rings. Thomas Gear's team of goldsmiths is among
the most skilled in the world. The
online jewellery is also purchasable in the shop. All items carry
the TJG trademark (Thomas Joseph Gear) and also the Irish Government
Hallmark from the Assay Office in Dublin Castle. One of
Thomas Gear's designs is on display in the Newark Museum, New York.
The New York Sunday Times published a half page feature on Thomas
Gear's work.
