2D Photo Pendant Engraving In the olden days it was fashionable to wear a locket containing a miniature portrait or photograph. Now comes the great achievement of modern technology – a pendant with the favoured picture engraved. From loved ones to special occasions or hobbies, all are beautifully recreated in permanent form in 9ct or 18ct gold and also in Silver. We have 3 different shapes available, Oval (Pictured opposite), Heart and Hexagon, all of which are available in small and large. You can have two pictures combined or even a different picture engraved on each side of your pendant if you wish. And your original picture is returned to you in perfect condition.
2D and 3D Glass Crystals Laser Engraving Imagine seeing a 3-dimensional image of yourself inside a solid block of crystal. Look from one side and see your face from the front. Turn it around and see yourself in profile or from behind. There are no markings on the surface of the crystal, just a life-like portrait floating in the heart of the glass. Advanced laser techniques are used to engrave the image in either 2 or 3-dimensions and create a unique impression. What’s more, you can choose from a wide range of sizes and shapes or crystal blocks to suit your needs. The whole process, from start to finish, takes one hour. Laser Image is also ideal for corporate purposes. Company logos, products, long-service awards or other messages can be engraved inside the block of crystal. Just supply Laser Image with your logo, message or product and let our craftsmen do the rest.
Jewellery Design We provide a full custom design service, why not drop into our shop in the Ilac centre and talk to one of our jewellery designers about your custom design or email us at info@thomasgear.com. Some of the pieces of jewellery designed here at Thomas Gears Jewellers include, our own Symbols of Ireland range and a beautiful Birthstone Bracelet set in 9ct gold. We also create Name Pendants in Gold and Silver.
Jewellery Cleaning We provide an Ultrasonic jewellery cleaning service. The machine we use is an electronic device designed to remove dirt from diamond rings, other rings, necklaces and other items of Jewellry. The vibrating motion of the ultrasonic waves creates microscopic bubbles in the water or cleaning solution in a process called cavitation; millions of tiny bubbles knock into one another and into the items resting in the cleaning tank. The cavitation process gently knocks dirt off the Jewellry. The motion is very effective at penetrating the tiny crevices in Jewellry that traditional cleaning cloths and topical cleaners cannot easily reach. We also have various solutions designed especially for cleaning gold, silver and gems to purchase in store.
Polishing and Rhodium plating We provide a polishing and Rhodium plating service for your precious jewellery items. What is Rhodium plating? Rhodium is a precious metal, a member of the platinum family. Rhodium electroplating is used, especially on Jewellery, to provide a surface that will resist scratches and tarnish, and give a white, reflective appearance.
